1. They can sense a coming earthquake from 120 km (75 miles) away, up to five days before it 

happens. They respond by behaving extremely erratically. "When an earthquake is about to 

occur, snakes will move out of their nests, even in the cold of winter. 

2. They have nearly 360° panoramic vision, allowing them to detect predators from all directions, 

they can see everything behind them. 

3. Most people call them peacocks, it is actually only a male that is called a peacock. Females are 

called peahens, and as a group, they are called peafowl. Only the male has a brilliantly colored 

train of feathers that can be arched into a beautiful fan. The female is drably colored because she 

needs to hide in the bushes while hatching her eggs.

and then kill and fly away with it.

6. Wood frogs belong to a small group of animals that can freeze but not die. As the temperature 

drop below freezing each winter, the wood frog buries itself and goes into deep hibernation, its 

breathing and heartbeat stop and as much as 65% of the water in its body gradually turns into 

ice. it spends two or three months of each winter frozen, with its body temperature ranging 

between -1°C and -6°C. when spring finally arrives, the ice melt, heartbeat, and breathing 

return and the frog are as good as new.

7. You see, adult cats don't meow at other cats. Instead, they communicate through scent, body 

language, facial expression, and touch. The meow is human-directed communication. Cats have 

learned that they cannot communicate with us the way they do with other cats, which is why cats 

a meow at humans to communicate. Scientists believe cats have refined this “meow” language to 

converse with humans.

8. Kangaroos use their tails for balance whilst hopping, so if you elevate their tail, they would 

have no balance and fall over.

defend their home against intruders.
